  2. Ringu (1998) vs The Ring (2002) : r/horror - Reddit

Aug 3, 2019 · The Ring, on the other hand, is one of my favorite horror films of all time. Ringu's characters are not quite as fleshed out, and I honestly prefer several aspects of The Ring to Ringu. First, and foremost, I like that The Ring leaves the ultimate interpretation of what "Samara" is, up to the viewer. No easy answers are given.

  3. "The Ring" (2002) Appreciation Thread : r/horror - Reddit

Sep 30, 2017 · I first watched The Ring on a Friday night. The theater was packed with teenagers who talked, giggled and generally didn’t pay attention. By the middle of the film the whole room was dead silent. And at the final scene spoiler The Ring is probably my favorite horror movie for many reasons, but my first viewing cemented my love for it.

  4. My thoughts on Ringu (1998) vs The Ring (2002), and why I

Aug 25, 2022 · One of these movies was Ringu (1998), and subsequently its American remake The Ring (2002). Despite some of my perceived shortcomings about the original (mostly regarding storytelling - I thought the checkpoint-like visions were a rather uninspiring way to progress the story), I ended up loving the film.

  5. Best The Ring (2002 Movie) Posts - Reddit

Released four years after the Japanese original 'Ringu' (1998) 'The Ring' was a refreshing change of pace for the horror genre after a relatively stale period in the late 90's post 'Scream' (1996) and it's derivatives and was arguably the most influential horror film of the 2000's alongside 'Saw' (2004). As Hideo Nakata's 'Ringu' (1998) was a highly acclaimed but relatively unknown film in …

  6. Does anyone else love the atmosphere of The Ring (2002)?

The ring does not make sense 20 years later. The movie is on some sort of black plastic rectangle instead it a Blu Ray or streaming? I love Robot Chicken making fun of the fact its a VHS instead of a digital copy.

  7. Which do you people like better The Ring (2002) or Ringu (1998)?

The Ring is the American version of Ringu which is based off of the Ring books written by Koji Suzuki. (BTW those books are good as hell). Personally, I like Ringu better. Maybe it’s because it is a lot quieter and has much more suspense to it. However, I do appreciate The Ring and everything it has done for not just horror, but movies as a whole.

  8. "The Ring" (2002) — an overdue rewatch (plus some thoughts)

Jul 24, 2020 · The ring was a great movie, I’ve seen almost everything horror has had to offer that gets listed as being “good”, really I’ll watch anything. Earlier in the thread someone said the NA was a better remake?

  10. Can someone explain why The Ring (2002) is so Highly Regarded?

Feb 15, 2022 · The ring for its time was revolutionary. Scary movies has more impact back then because of no social media in my opinion. Just like someone said it was a refresher from the teen slasher. The end finale was the first time I ever saw something as creative as that. You don’t even think something like that was goons happen it was so cool and creepy.

  11. The ring (2002) ending + question : r/horror - Reddit

Oct 4, 2023 · The Ring is awesome! I prefer the American remake personally, but the original is excellent (and does some things better). There's a pretty general consensus that the remake is well done and although there are exceptions, people generally seem to prefer the version they watch first. I don't think the original is any scarier.
